Would wearing a contact lens backwards damage my eye?!

Question: Would wearing a contact lens backwards damage my eye!?
My contact has been irritating my eye for the past couple of days, but I couldn't see any tear in it so I tried to ignore it (stupid I know, but I don't have a spare pair with me, or my glasses, so if I threw it out I just wouldn't be able to see for about a week)!.
Anyway, I took it out just now and accidently turned it 'inside out', only then I realised it was actually the right way round!. I put it back in my eye, and lo and behold, there was no more irritation!. So I think I've been wearing it backwards for 3 days!.
Could this have damaged my eye at all!? Should I go to the optitions, or is it ok!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
no it wont damage your eyes at all!. all it does it cause some discomfort and it often results in mild blurring of your vision but this is often not noticed by people!.

just remember to double check that you have the lenses in the right way round every time you put them in!.

no need to go to the opticians as they will just say the same as me!. the only time to really worry about contact lenses is if you ever get pain in the eye and the pain continues after you have removed the lenses!. this is a sign of an infection and this is when you should consult your optician asap!.

I wouldn't worry about it!. Based on your situation, I would recommend buying a pair of eye glasses as soon as possible!. Once you have the glasses, do not wear your contacts for 24 to 48 hours!. After that time, your eyes should be fine and you won't have to seek medical attention!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have contacts too!. And no, wearing the contacts backward won't damage your eye, but it'll irritate it since its pointing outward in your eye instead of inward!. Just make sure to clean them every day and make sure the edges are curled in!.

Also buying glasses is a good idea i have contacts and glasses, so when i run out of contacts i pop on my glasses and re-order!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You have answered your own question!

I say this because when you first buy a pair of flexible contact lenses, it's pretty good to put them in either way!.!.!. (usually, and it depends on the brand) but you may have worn them in a bit which I have notices very slightly alters the shape of the lens, so that it seems more comfortable the "right way in"!.

Simply check your contact lenses in future! I know it's not so easy when you are fumbling around half blind with the case and the fluid and trying to stick something small and clear into an eye you can't see with!

The most damage you would have done is some very minor lesions or rubbing to your eyelid, which could feel a bit scratchy, like there is some grit in your eyes!.

If it still feels irritated after a couple of days wearing the lens, get it looked at, but by the sounds of it, you're fine!Www@Answer-Health@Com
