What kind of contacts do I need?!

Question: What kind of contacts do I need!?
I just went to the eye doctor today and have never needed glasses or any corrective eye wear!. I have ordered a pair of glasses but was wondering what kind of contacts I might be able to buy!. Here's what my prescription says from the eye doctor's office:

SPH Right Eye: -1!.00
SPH Left Eye: -0!.75

This is all it says!. Can someone please help me!? I've never had glasses or contacts, etc!. and need someone to explain things to me in the most basic terms possible!.

Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Wait till you have the glasses and find out how much you want to wear them!.

With that Rx some people will wear the glasses most of the time (and contacts might be worth considering, but lot of people wil only use them for driving, or other distance needs, in which case contacts would be more hassle than they are worth (you can't keep popping them in and out, the way you can instantly change glasses), except perhaps for active sports such as tennis, but then the ideal type of contacts may be different from all-day use!.

Find out what you want the Rx for, and how often, first!. (and that's your call) then the question of best contacts, if any, will be more easily answered!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You are far sighted, unless you need reading glasses as well and want to get bi focal or multi focal lenses all of the major brands cover your distance prescription!. You will however need a separate prescription for contact lenses since you need to know your base curve and diameter!.

Another thing to consider is if you want conventional soft lenses, disposables or RGP lenses!.

Your optician will need to check your tear chemistry and eye pressure in order to advise you on the best lens type and brand for your eyes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First of all, you should go back to your eye doctor and ask them for a sample pair of contacts!. My eye doctor has a specialist for contacts and she let me try a few pairs to see which I would like best and what to order!. Try disposables!. And the foil pack they come in, keep it! Then call (800) contacts and order the same ones for a lot cheaper!. When you call, they ask you for the numbers you just gave us, but there are also other measurements which are on the foil pack I was telling you about!. It basically is a measurement of the curve of your eye along with your prescription you gave us!. btw your eyes are not bad at all, mine are not considered severe at all and they are -2!.50 and -2!.75Www@Answer-Health@Com

well, get trials!. those will be just like your glasses!.
contacts and glasses are different!. there not the same!.
get tested for the contacts and use the trial pair for a week or two!.
i just got my contacts 2 weeks ago!. (:Www@Answer-Health@Com

The optician will tell you that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
