What do you do during a contact fitting?!

Question: What do you do during a contact fitting!?
I have severe astigmatism, and I'm at risk for glacoma!. My vision is horrible (I'm pretty much blind without my glasses), and I finally decided to give up my heavy glasses for contacts!. I'm going to get my contacts fitted tomorrow, and I really want to know what to expect during my fitting!. This will be my first time getting contacts!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

In a contact lens fitting, we measure the size and shape of your eyes, flip your eyelid to make sure that you don't have any allergies on the inside of your upper lid, we check to make sure you don't have severly dry eyes!. Once your contacts come it, the doctor is going to want to see them on your eyes to make sure they are sitting correctly, not too tight, not too loose, check your vision to make sure you are seeing as well as you can!. Then they are going to teach you how to put them in, take them out, clean them and take care of them!. Millions of people do this everyday, don't worry, if it was tortureous, no one would ever do it!Www@Answer-Health@Com

First, is this optometrist that you are going to your regular optometrist!? You want to make sure the Doc knows you have astigmatism!. You have to wear a certain type of contact or it could harm your eye!. The process requires very little on your part, but be prepared to have your eye poked a pretty good bit!. The will put steroid drops in your eyes to numb them, measure your cornea with a special tool that touches your eye, and then they will actually put a contact on your eye to see if it feels ok to you!. They will not usually let you do this yourself, b/c they want to torture you!. Actually, they are just making sure you don't screw it up, but it seems a little like torture, b/c the Doc will hold your eye open and shove the contact in!. I don't want to scare you, but you asked what to expect!. Have fun!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

They will just give you a normal eye exam!. Or unless you already got one considering that you ordered your contacts two weeks in advance!. But at the fitting youll just get them and then theyll make sure that you can put them in and there comfortable in your eyes!. Good luck with it i remember ditching my huge glasses! :DWww@Answer-Health@Com
