Question: Help me understand my eye prescription!?
hi,my prescription is:
Right Sphere: +1!.75
Right Cyl: -0!.50
Axis 20
Aided VA-Dist: 6/6
Left Sphere:+4!.75
Cyl: -1!.00
Axis 60
Aided VA Dist:6/15
I have just received my prescription glasses but my eyes are blurred-even my good right eye-they are ok to look at people or objects but i can not fous properly to read-is my left eye really bad!?a always knew it was quite week but these numbers look quite bad-does anyone know if i could get laser surgery on my left eye!?thanksWww@Answer-Health@Com

You are far-sighted in your right eye with a little bit of astigmatism!. Your left eye is more far-sighted and has more astigmatism!. If this is your fist time with glasses, it may take a while for your brain to adjust!. The best way to adapt is put them on and leave them on if you can!. I am a bit concerned about the disparity between the two eyes!. Sometimes, with such a difference in prescription, the brain can't fuse the two images!. If you are still having problems after a week, call your eye doctor!. I feel you would be better suited to contact lenses with this prescription!.!.!.!.you don't have to worry about the disparity between the two eyes in that case!.

Because of the difference between the prescription of your eyes it may last several days for your eyes to be adopted to new glasses!.Your left eye is suffering of amblyopia so its vision may not be correctable as much as your right eye!.About Laser surgery according to ophthalmology text books it is unwise to perform such an operation on you right eye which is your main and single eye for good vision and in the case of an unexpected surgical complication you will lose your vision permanently!.In fact some authors indicate that its contraindicated to perform a laser surgery on the nonamblyopic eye of a person with an amblyopic other eye!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
You are moderately farsighted in the left eye more than the right!. If you cant see well with your glasses, give them a few days!. Your eyes may be trying to "work the muscle" of accomodation and they need to learn to relax and let the glasses work!. If you have worn them full time for a week with no improvement, see your doctor and get rechecked!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
