Contacts are made of special polymers ( type of plastics)!.!.that are molded to certain curvatures to give the required power!.
They aren't ground, like an optical lens!. They are molded like!.!.!.jello!. ( Most are, at least )!.!.!. although some are still made on a lathe!.!.a very small one!.
There are dozens of different materials, etafilcon, methafilcon, ocufilcon!.!.!.ect!.!.!.almost every filcon you can think of!.!.!.lol!.!.!.and each brand uses different material!.
They perform the same as a lens in your glasses after though, by focusing light onto your retina in the prescribed manner!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
