no, you don't always get the dominant chromosome from your parents, so you might get a characteristic that hasn't appeared in your family for generations because it wasn't dominant!.
What happens with fair eyed people is that they have to inherit blue eye chromosomes from both parents because blue eyes being the most frail and prone to disease eyes they are rarely the dominant chromosome!.
Since I'm on the point: do not get out without sunglasses, blue eyes are very sensitive and you have a increased risk for cataracts in later life take good care of your eyes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

no not at all!.
its all about genetics!.!.!.
there are two types of genes, i call them PRIMARY and SECONDARY (real names are escaping me at the moment)!.
primary genes over take all other genes no matter what!. these are:black hair, brown hair, and brown eyes!.
secondary genes have to be mixed with other secondary genes to even show up (though sometimes it turns out the other way)!. these are:blonde hair, red hair, blue eyes, green eyes, and hazel eyes!.
there are many variables when it comes to genes!. In your case, there was a 50:50 chance you would either have blue or green eyes, because those are both secondary genes!. But if on of your grandparents had brown eyes, there would be a small chance that you could have brown eyes!.
if both parents are blue eyed- then yes, there is a better chance of having a blue eyed child!. But it also depends on the child's grandparents!.
genetics are confusing but the simple answer is
"No, you don't need 2 blue eyed parents to have a blue eyed baby!."
hope this helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Nope!. My brother is living proof!.
Our mom has green eyes!. She had a blue-eyed father and a hazel-eyed mother!.
Our dad has hazel eyes!. Both of his parents had brown eyes!.
Now, my brother has blue eyes!. That was rather unlikely given his genetic background, but it happened!. It should also be noted that he also looks almost exactly like my mom's older brother, who also inherited Grandpa's blue eyes despite having a non-blue-eyed mom!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

In books on "Human Development" I have read information that gives you a better answer!.
The brown eyes are dominate, but not sure of blues over greens!. It depends on both partners history and on parents and grandparents eye colour on both sides in determining the babies eye colour!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Absolutely not!. Case in point: My mother has dark brown eyes, my father had very light blue=I have grayish/blue eyes!. Here's another one: My sister has brown/green eyes, her husband has very light blue eyes= both my niece (7 years) and my nephew (2 years almost) have blue eyes!. It's all a game of family genetics from the genes of both parents!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
