No, contacts should never hurt your eyes, as long as they've been fitted properly, and you clean and store them as directed by your eye doctor. They can be a little irritating at first, but usually that is only because your eyes need time to adjust to wearing them. It can take up to 2 weeks for some people to adjust to wearing them. Once you get past that initial adjustment period, they are normally super comfortable. And if they do start bothering you during the day, it can usually be remedied by using some eye drops made for use while wearing contacts...that will help add some extra moisture to your eyes. Dryness is a big cause of irritation with contacts.

They aren't really that hard to put in or take out; it just takes time and practice. The more you do it, the better you will get. It only takes me a minute or two now to put my contacts in, and I love them.

If you are really interested in trying contacts out, go see your eye doctor. He/she will give you the exam and fitting, then let you try out various samples of contacts, to see which ones feel best to you. He/she will also train you on how to insert/remove them, how to clean/store, when to change to a new pair, etc. You can ask any questions you might have also. When all that's done, you will get a trial pair of contacts to wear for 2 weeks. This will help you decide whether or not contacts are for you. If you don't like them, no big deal...you can go back to wearing your glasses if you like. If you liked the contacts, the eye doctor will schedule a follow up appointment for you, where he/she will write you a prescription so that you can start ordering your contacts online or from an eye doctor's office. If you didn't think the contacts felt that great, the eye doctor will let you do another 2 week trial with a different type/brand, and will keep doing that until you feel like you've found the contacts that work best for you.

Most people absolutely love contacts, so I think it's worth giving them a try, as long as you feel like you're ready for the responsibilities of taking care of them. I think you will find they're much easier to wear than glasses, especially when playing sports or being active. You don't really have anything to lose, besides your glasses!

no they don't hurt. they sometimes can get a little irritating when they get dry, but usually you don't even feel them. i have mine in right now and i don't even realize that they're there! you may have some trouble putting them in and taking them out at first, but after a couple of weeks (or days even) it becomes effortless. it's like you're on auto-pilot, you just pop them in lol. it's totally worth it, you should get them. =]

I've been wearing contact lenses for nearly a year after over a decade of wearing glasses. In the first week or so it's a lot of effort to put them in because it's still quite difficult to do so but once you get used to it you can get the lenses in within a couple of minutes no problem at which point you'll hate wearing your glasses. The only time you'll feel the lenses is the second you put them in because they'll be cold (but it's quite refreshing) and also if you leave them in for too long and they start drying out. For most of the day you shouldn't notice them at all so if the cost isn't a concern I highly recommend you try lenses for a few weeks.

Today just about everyone can wear contact lenses, and there are more healthful and convenient contact lens options than ever before. Contact lenses are used to correct the same conditions that eyeglasses correct. For all details, information and remedies about contacts check out http://use-contactlens.blogspot.com/
