Can The Eye Doctor Hold Your Eyelid Open For Drops If You Alow Them To Do So?!

Question: It's always been a pain in the butt for me with eye drops; well cause your instinct reaction when something is coming for your eye is to blink. I found a new eye doctor and I gave her permission when I kept blinking to hold my eyelid open to prevent it and she said to me "we can't do that" and i said "huh, why?" and she said "we're not allowed to touch the patients like that."

I never heard of this before. My other eye doctor did it with no problem but this was a first saying that they will not do it. Have you heard about this before?

I have never heard of this. My eye doctor does not even ask, he just says "this will burn a bit" and then pops my eyelid open and puts the drops in. He does wear gloves for this but never hesitates to touch me. He has even placed contacts in my eye when he was fitting me for them.
