There is a reason why it is recommended that only patients who have demonstrated that their prescription is stable have laser vision correction. That is because laser vision correction takes you from point A (prescription error) to point B (no prescription error) but it doesn't change YOU. If you are changing when you have laser you will probably continue to change BUT if you are stable before you have laser then you will probably remain stable. So, if proper patient selection occurs before laser, then the results probably won't "fade" over time. BUT, life does go on. And sometimes life does involve change. But if you change, it won't be because you have had laser. I personally had laser vision correction in 1995 and my results have not changed at all. I am exactly the same today as after surgery. And that is not the exception.

Well my mom had it done and she has 20/20 vision still and she had it done seven years ago, she does need reading glasses, but her far sight is perfect, no more worrying about prescription glasses getting broken or contacts falling out.
Go for it!

nah...its perfect...i dont think it's permanent but i think it lasts for a long time

/ I had terrible eyesight, but now I'm 20/15 thanks to laser eye surgery.

Each year, I must have an eye exam. If I do not, then my 'warranty' isn't covered.

What that means, is that it is possible for my eyes to need correcting in the future... They call it an 'enhancement,' and it is fully covered free of charge as long as I get an eye exam once a year.

So far, after 3 years I am still 20/15. The good news is that your eyes aren't ruined or anything like that. You just get the prescription corrected to perfect vision again.

Some need reading glasses, but I see near and far perfectly, thank God.
