How long does it take to get used to taking out and putting in contacts?

I know for me it didn't take any time getting used to taking them out. Unless they (my eyes) were really dry, it was a bit harder then & it hurt a bit.
It took me a while to get used to putting them in, probably weeks. Some days I still have trouble, (yearsss later) like they just don't want to stay on my eyeball!!!!
When I got them years ago, how the Dr. explained it to me was to put the contact on your eye, like hold it in place, then roll your eyeball around (look around) and the contact will go/stay in place. Make sure your hands are clean, and the fingers you are opening your eye with are dry. I like my contacts wetter, I don't have the problem with them sticking to my fingers, but I do find if there is too much solution on the contact it won't stick to my eye. If I'm sleepy they won't go in. I need to be awake, washed face, makeupless.
