Burning Eyes and Contact Lens?!

Question:

Burning Eyes and Contact Lens?

I wear AcuVue 2 Contact Lens and use Wal-Mart Brand Solution. My eyes have been burning, stinging, and watering. The sensation feels as if I sprayed hairspray in my eyes. I took my current contacts out, and threw them away. I spent last night sleeping with a cool washcloth on my eyes, and this morning, my eyes were fine. I opened a new package of lens, and they have not yet had the Wal-Mart Solution on them. The Problem went away. My question is

Do you think this is a solution problem, or possibly Allergy Eyes?

Is there a difference in brands of contact solution, even though they have the same ingredients?

The Generic Brand solution has the exact same stuff in it as, the more expensive name brand. I am very careful during my contact routine. I always wash my hands before I touch my lens or my eyes. I don't use hair care products around my face. So I don't think it has anything to do with getting something in my eyes.

I've used this solution since I've had contacts, about 5 years. And I have never had a problem before. The contacts were fairly new, and not ready to be changed.

Answers:

There are lots of solutions on the market. It sounds like what you need is a drop you can instill into your eyes while wearing your contacts. Sometimes you are just not getting enough oxygen to your eyes and this causes dry eye. The drops are like natural tears. You can also check with whoever perscribed your contacts. They usually have samples for you to try to see which is the solution for you. Also are you straining your eyes with alot of computer work?
