How close should you be able to read a book.?!

Question:

How close should you be able to read a book.?

Just wondering. WIth contacts, I have 20/20 vision, and when I read, I can read a small/medium size font about 6-8" away from my eyes. Any closer makes it blurry.

Answers:

How closely you can read a book depends a great deal upon your age. When you pass the ripe, old age of 20 the closest distance that you can hold a book and see clearly starts to change and that closest distance starts to slowly get further and further away. Keep in mind that I'm talking about your ability to focus WITH your contacts or glasses. As stated previously, 6 to 8 inches is uncommonly close to hold something to read. Back off and relax. Your focusing mechanism will work less and you will be more comfortable.
