What do you think of eye Laser Vision Correction? Has anyone done it?!

Question:

What do you think of eye Laser Vision Correction? Has anyone done it?

Answers:

I had my PRK 13 days ago, with a better outcome than I was expecting. I did a lot of researching...the different procedure techniques, risks, benefits, alternatives to the surgery...and researched my surgeon very carefully. I went by experience and education versus price...and feel that my surgeon is the best in my area on account of where he got his education, the length of time he has been performing LVC, and what his focus of the eye is. The link below takes to you a list of the surgeries matching them to the technologies that are available...and that is one of my research sources that I use for my job in an ophthalmology office...probably the best one for the non-ophthalmology professional...written in an easy to understand format...a little technical...but very good in my opinion.

If you haven't already, get a consultation to find out about your individual situation with your eyes...we're all different and I can only say that I'm very happy with my results...others probably aren't so happy...but going from worse than 20/400 to 20/30 in one eye and 20/20 in the other...I'm happy with this if I do not improve any more at all. I went in just hoping for legal to drive vision (20/40 without correction in most states)...and I've already surpassed that...and I know I'll need reading glasses at some point in the future, another definite no big deal thing for me. Others may consider that not good enough and if they had these same results as I have, they may not be satisfied...the other thing to consider is that I know I am still healing...for PRK can take 4-6 weeks to get closer to the best results...and some people heal even more slowly and their vision reaches it's best in time frames up to six months to a year. My husband was told that he should get his maximal improvement by postop month three for his LASIK...he's 1/3 of the way there and already 20/20 and 20/15...but he always heals fast...from everything.
