does it mean anything if i pierce it on the right or the left and wich works better

It doesn't matter what side you put it on, but a cartilage piercing is not to be approached lightly. You can't just hammer them in any old place and then let it heal over if you decide you don't like it... placement and commitment to the piercing are important. A cartilage piercing is fairly painful, and it can take a perfectly healthy ear anywhere from 2-6 months to heal completely.

Also, do NOT go to an ear piercing studio to get this done. Get a proper needle piercing with surgical steel or titanium to speed healing and minimize keloid scarring. If someone offers to do it with a piercing gun, they are unprofessional to the point of being dangerously crazy, and you should say no.

Last but not least, follow your piercer's instructions for care and healing after the fact. Do not take your sister's, your girlfriend's, your mom's, your friends', or your friends' piercer's advice. DO AS YOU ARE TOLD and your piercing will bring you years of satisfaction, pleasure, and compliments. I love mine.
