Breaking a nervous habit?
I just noticed that I adjust my hair and straighten my glasses when I am nervous. I would like to break that habit. Any tips?
Answers:
You have to remain conscious of that behavior. Every time you feel yourself wanting to adjust your hair or straighten your glasses, try a different physical move like putting your hand in your pocket.
I also found that chewing gum or holding something in my hand (e.g., keys) helps to stop nervous habits.
