I'm 25 years old and have a herniated disc in my L5. The doc is giving me a cortisone shot next monday and two days later i leave on vacation to mexico. Will this shot really help? What is the best cure for a herniated disc?I know some chiropractors claim they can help with their machines (spinal decompression and adjustments) but none of that stuff works? What is the best cure?

There are two effective treatments from a doctor's standpoint for the herniated disc. You can either A.) Go to physical therapy and work at making it better, or if that doesn't work B.) get surgery. Those are the only two really definitive cures or the herniated disc.
