Mysterious pain?!

Question:

Mysterious pain?

This is the strangest thing. Every time I get a cold that includes a lot of coughing, I get a pain in my mid section (to my left side, upper left quadrant, for medical people). The pain ranges from mild to severe. It is a dull ache that comes and goes. It seems to be relieved by bending over on it. I have been told it could be a hernia that "pops" out when I strain to cough. Any ideas? Thanks

Answers:

your diaphram could just be sore from all the coughing.your diaphram is the big muscle that separates your lungs.every time you cough, it contracts because you are trying to extract something from your lungs.
