Help with sore muscles / muscle cramps after exercise?
I've had the first day of summer training from my school! Liners, swings, squats, pushups.. miles and running stairs. I feel really sore! I've noticed the pain from walking up stairs. I think I'm out of shape. Know something that will help me to relax my body before I practice? Should I just relax or have anything to recommend? I have more practices this week, should I push my self to do them?
Answers:
Warm up properly and stretch before each practice.
Make sure that you are properly cooling down with a light jog and fully stretching WELL (every muscle group, holding for 30+ seconds each) following each practice.
Also, make sure that you are staying properly hydrated throughout the week (water, gatorade- not soda!) as this will also help battle lactic acid build up.
