I have pain in the top of my foot and in my ankle and it hurts when i put pressu!

I have pain in the top of my foot and in my ankle and it hurts when i put pressure or walk on it?

this has happened before and keeps happening time to time like 3 years now it all started after having my son he was 4 months old ,and after being pregnant for nine months ..i needed a strech ya know..my mustles so one morning i woke up and streched and something poped like a tape messure and the pain was so emmence.. i noticed what ever poped in my leg now lays around my ankle on the inside like a band poped under the skin and it is just laying there so when i try to do something like walk or im on my feet to much i find myself in this pain.its hard to walk up steps and to walk or excersise and when i put pressure on it it horrible and is swollen on the top of my foot and in the ankle area.the pain also generates to my knee up my leg if i put alot of presure on the top of my foot it it is some what feels better but comes right back when i take the pressure off and its a burnnig sensation like terribly just hurts i dont know what to do what could this be? any Drs out there ?help please
