What do I do about this doctor? (About pain medicine prescription)?!
Question: What do I do about this doctor? (About pain medicine prescription)?
My psychiatrist told me that if my doctor tried to cut me off, she would write a note explaining to him that not only do I suffer from chronic pain but that I also have a low tolerance to pain, and a higher tolerance of pain medication. So the Percocet I get is really like Tylenol to me. Unfortunately, she's out of town for today until next Friday, April 1st.
What do I do about this? And is it just me or is what the new dentist did by calling my other doctor about what he was prescribing me extremely unprofessional and childish?
Answers:
I would say "Law Suit"!!!!
That is absolutely ridiculous!!! The dentist had no reason to do that. That is not his business!! I am very sorry you are going through this and I really hope your psychiatrist gets back soon so she can get that letter written for you!! I suffer from chronic pain as well and I have had a problem with a few doctors and pain medicine!! It's not fun. Once you have been on it for so long, your tolerence builds up which causes you to take more than prescribed and it's hard because pain is no joke.
That is a very unprofessional dentist!!!!
I really hope everything works out for you and I hope that your pain will subside soon!!
why did you even tell your dentist? and id slap a lawsuit on the dintist for doing so.... ask a question in the laws section of yahoo answers and explain that your dintist called your doc and told them your a addict to perc because thats the only reason your doc would say he feels in jeperdy... plus your info is confadental so they shouldnt be talking about you like that......
