well I know how you feel I have been suffering from panic attacks for 18 months It started the day after I had my third child I got really lightheaded panicked and thought I was going to die. In the beginning it was horrible I thought I had a brain tumor or something or was going to have a stroke. I have now learned to deal with it and is now a lot better I have klonopin that I take every once in a while when my anxiety gets real bad I take a half of a pill of the lowest dose they have so I can stay awake and function normally all it does is take the panic away and the llightheadedness. I went to the doctors several times thinking anxiety was not the problem I had anxiety before but not panic attacks anxiety is not to bad to deal with but panic attacks is almost unbearable I had to have my fiance come home from work several times to help me with the kids because I thought I was going to die. I felt relieved when I looked around online and found allot of information about it and realized the symptoms were similar. there is another possibility though it could be vertigo I have had that a few times it is caused by something in the inner ear you get sudden dizziness with no warning but it is like a spinning dizziness the whole room seems to spin. but what you described seems to fit panic attacks more accurately and given your history with anxiety it makes sense.
