How can I prevent back pain from standing?!
Question:
How can I prevent back pain from standing?
I just got a new job that requires me to stand (no walking, just standing) for 7+ hours straight. I have very bad back problems & the first day wrecked my back. How can I prevent the pain for when I go into work today?
PS: I can't ask for a position where I don't have to stand, all of the lower positions there require me to stand for a long period of time.

A GOOD PAIR OF SHOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUT JUST FOR TODAY SWITCH WEIGHT LOAD AROUND,ONE FOOT TO OTHER,BOTH.GO TO THE BATHROOM MORE THAN USUAL IF YOU CAN AND TAKE A LOAD OFF THE FEET FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES.ALSO I LIKE TO TAP MY FOOT WHEN I AM STANDING FOR AWHILE....HELPS WITH PAIN A LITTLE.FOR THE LONG TERM....SHOES ARE VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!! GET A PAIR THAT FITS CORRECTLY, GOOD INSOLES, AND RUBBER OUTER SOLES.YOU PROBABLY NEED TO LOOSE WEIGHT TOO.MAYBE PAYING ATTENTION TO POSTURE AND MUSCLE STRENGTHENING.I AM ALSO HAVING(LOWER )BACK PAIN... IT IS DUE TO WEIGHT GAIN, AND NOT ENOUGH EXERCISE
