Do not apply ice or an icepack to the burn. That may hurt the injured skin more.
It is safe to apply cool water or a soft cloth soaked in cool water to the burn.
No butter, oil, toothpaste to the area. More difficult to get off and to see if infection is happening.
Aloe vera may be applied to a reddened area.
Take Motrin,Advil or Ibuprofen as dir on bottle to reduce pain. also elevate the leg.
If you notice spreading redness, blisters, fever or pus, seek care at MD or urgent care.
Feel better soon ! RN in Ca.
put toothpaste on it. this isnt a joke, trust me it works.
it has to be like the white paste kind, not gel toothpaste.
whatever you do though DONT PUT COLD WATER ON IT. that might provide quick relief but you will regret it later.
just put the toothpaste on and leave it alone.
If it's just red and didn't go through your skin you should be fine. It'll burn for a while since it is a burn. Keep some ice on it to cool it down.
if it is bad....go to the doctor
