My idea might be too bizarre. Why don't they force cigarette manufacturers to put just TOBACCO into cigarettes, which if you've ever smoked cigarettes made from just from proper tobacco, you'll notice that you have to keep lighting them if you leave them for a short period. Strange the smoke from proper tobacco isn't as irritating or as smelly as cheap rubbish filled alternatives which burn better than the olypmic flame when left alone....I might be going out on a limb here, but maybe thats what the manufacturers want, so you smoke more and buy more!

Might I suggest soaking them in water for a couple of days before lighting them.
