Are you an Orthopedic Surgeon or have experience in Ortho billing?!
Question:
Are you an Orthopedic Surgeon or have experience in Ortho billing?
I recieved a bill listing charges for a short arm cast AND a splint charge. I'm no expert, but I'm under the impression that a short arm cast is a full cast that surrounds the forearm, while a splint is merely a so-called "1/2 cast" that only surrounds half the forearm. Am I right in my thinking?
I never had a full cast for my injury, just a splint. I need to know if I need to kick down some doors and walls at the clinic for trying to bill me for something I never needed or much less recieved. Thanks for helping in advance.
Answers:
Definatly call the office and ask why they put that down on your bill. you are correct. They should not have charged you for a full cast when all you had was a splint. I worked for an Orthopedic Doctor and we never charged for a full cast if all we did was splint. The only reason why they would charge that is if they used their material to put you in the cast. Which wasnt the case. call them and ask them to change it, that seems wrong.
