How well calibrated are pharmacy blood pressure machines?!
Question:
How well calibrated are pharmacy blood pressure machines?
Referring to major chain pharmacies (whether in a supermarket or not), like an Osco or something. Do technicians come in on a regular basis to calibrate them or do they just sit around for a couple of years losing calibration?
Answers:
I have never found an automatic blood pressure cuff that is very accurate. There is no substitute for a manual check, but if there are some numbers of concern from a pharmacy's auto-cuff, then find someone to check it manually.
