Lower back pain after shoveling snow?!
Question: Lower back pain after shoveling snow?
Answers:
Well first, wet or dry heat and rest.
I would also recommend a shovel with the right length handle for your height.
They also make shovels with curved handles that are MUCH healthier to use.
You can also find handles that you clamp onto your regular shovel handle that gives you a grip that does not require you to bend while shoveling.
It is the bending and the pushing, lifting and throwing of heavy weights that is the cause of most snow shoveling back pain.
You're probably not shoveling correctly. Lift with your knees, not your back. Also, use hot and cold packs for the pain. Alternate between every 15min. before bed. Also, try taking an anti-inflammatory for the pain. It doesn't matter how old you are or how athletic, it's very taxing on the back muscle to shovel snow.
There are any number of possibilities. Here are a set of tools you can use when and "if" your back acts up. http://GravityWerks.com
You'll get 4 free mp 3's where you'll learn how to take care of your back. You'll do what is known as Somatics Exercises which are primarily used to get people out of pain.
Then once you're more comfortable, you can use these tools to remain pain free.

depends on how long you shoveled. if you shoveled for a long time, its normal. if you only shoveled for a little bit, though, i suggest you see a doc. Answer mine, please!!!!
Well, if your shoveling A LOT then that is pretty normal as long as it doesn`t last long. I would really suggest going to the doctor tho.
You could have pinched a nerve in you back,Go see your doctor.
