I've just eaten some really over-date eggs- help!?!

Question: I've just eaten some really over-date eggs- help!?
Hi guys,
I was just making some cupcakes and I didn't check the date on the eggs, and used them in my cakes. The cakes are now baking and I've just ate the remainings of the cake mixture (there was a lot left over) - and I noticed the cake mixture tasted a bit odd. So I checked the best-before date on the eggs and the date on them is 3rd Feburary (it's now the 16th)!! What should I do? Please can someone give me some advice: will I be ill/sick? And are the cakes in the oven safe to eat because they have been cooked?

Answers:

If you have any eggs left from that carton, submerge then in a bowl of water, if they float then they're bad and you should throw them out and not eat the cakes. If they stay on the bottom then they're safe to eat.

It is unlikely that your eggs are bad after only 13 days over the best-before date. That being said, you really shouldn't be eating uncooked cake batter with raw eggs in it, but lots of people do (me included!) and suffer no ill effects.

Experience.

dont worry, u will be going to the bathroom soon. maybe 3 times today
