What's that absorbent thing inside pill bottles?!
Question: What's that absorbent thing inside pill bottles!?
That little canister that's supposed to keep the pills dry or fresh or something!? What is it!? I know it's poisonous!. Anyone know what kind of poison it is; and what it would do to some one who ingested it!? (Not that I will, of course!)Www@Answer-Health@Com
Answers:
It's called a desiccant and it's used to keep the pills or tabs free of moisture Www@Answer-Health@Com
It's usually a type of silica gel!. It's put inside the pill bottles to absorb any moisture inside the bottle so that the pills don't start to dissolve (it's a kind of desiccant)!.
Some of them are poisonous because they contain a copper-based moisture indicator or a fungicide!. They are all harmful to your body because of their moisture-absorbing properties; they would disrupt the moisture balance in your system if ingested!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
