What is the ligament in my thumb called?!

Question: What is the ligament in my thumb called!?
I was sitting down on the ground when I braced myself with my hand and I heard a pop in my thumb!.!.!.!.!.!. the lower part of the thumb (the thick bony part that connects to the palm was swollen for a week!.)

And now I noticed that when I arch the thumb, it doesn't snap like it used to!. When I do it with my healthy thumb it makes a snapping noise and you can see the bone kinda pop out (do you know what I mean!?)!.

I don't feel any pain and it never dislocates or anything!.!.!.!. so is the ligament possibly damaged and what is the name of it!?

Answers:
The joint that is affected at the bottom of the thumb is called the metacarpophalangeal joint!.Any hard force on the thumb that pulls the thumb away from the hand can cause damage to the ulnar collateral ligaments!.

I'm not sure if this answers your question, so its probably best to see your doctor anyway, just to be sure that it isn't too serious!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
