Question: Could food or my eating habits cause joint pain!?
Now and then I wake up with my hands and arms feeling tight, like swollen!. I can go for weeks at a time and then nothing for weeks!. This morning I wake up with my ring finger feeling like its broken (I can move it) my other fingers feel tight also!. Last month when it happened I sleep slightly sitting up to help me not to wake up as swollen!. What could be wrong with me!? By the way am 50 pound over weight and 38 yrs old if it helps!. I am always dieting and about 2 month ago I lost 20 pounds and have keep it off!. I watch what I eat 5 days out of the week!.

My friend's mom had really bad joint pain, especially in her fingers!. She couldn't type, because it was so bad!. It got better after she cut aspartame from her diet!.

Aspartame is a chemical that is found in artificial sweeteners!. If you've been dieting, have you been eating/drinking diet or low-calorie foods and drinks!? That might be your problem there!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm sorry about your pain!. It's possible the joint pain could be brought on by a food your eating!. Since you're dieting are you keeping dairy of the foods your eating!? Probably two of the worst foods for causing or aggravating joint pain are red meat and prawns as they contain large amounts of uric acid!. Prawns are probably the worst as they are extremely acidic!.

yes I believe that some foods can make stiffness in joints fire up,I avoid tomatoes and try to stay away from high sugar foods &dairy ,as the sugar content can be converted to acid in your body!.Look up books on Ayervedic Body types and what food groups are suitable for your body type!.(Indian traditional medicine)
Good for you on losing some weight,gradual is best!.Less weight means less strain on joints!.Also past injuries ie!.sporting/physical &emotional can all come back to haunt us,when we want to move forward!.
