Question: Is this normal after knee surgery!?
I had arthroscopic surgery on my knee a week ago (9-22-08)!. They did something called a lateral release!. Yesterday when I woke up, I had a marble size bump just above the incision on the outside of my knee!. I also have tightness behind and below my knee cap!. It is also very painful to walk on and I can't stretch it as far as I could about 3 days ago!. Should I be concerned or is this normal!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had same thing on 9-12!. My right knee!. On the top right side of my knee is a bump bigger then that still!. All it is is fluid on the knee and is normal!. Even though it don't look or seem like it!. I had pain everywhere around my knee!. My hamstring, my calf, right behind the knee!. And it's all normal!. It's cause ur not using it the way you did before!. Try to walk normal so you will keep everything loose!.Continue rehab everyday to stretch it!. You will have bad and good days!. I'm out of work for 2 months!. No matter what the doc says, I have to go back 10 -15!. I can walk on it but can't do knee bends still without PAIN!. So another words!. I ALMOST REGRET HAVING IT DONE! Cause the pain is still there!. Doc says it takes 4 months to fully heal so I'm gonna wait till then to regret it!. So everything you are feeling is normal!. Take care and hope it turns out better then mine did

It will be painful and tight for a while, if you were given a brace leave it on!. Don't try to move it around, be careful, especially with the surgery you had or you will be right back where you were before the surgery!. The lumps is most likely part of the type of surgery they did!. But with any concerns you have you should call your doctor to be safeWww@Answer-Health@Com
