How soon can I call in my rx refill?!
Question: How soon can I call in my rx refill!?
I asked this already, but wanted to get some additional info!. I have a prescription for pain meds!. with 2 refills!. My rx is due to be filled on Oct!. 1st!. I don't drive due to my condition and my husband is leaving town for a work trip on the 1st!. Do you think they will let me fill it a couple days early!? I have filled this rx with this pharmacy on day 25 and 26 before!. I don't have insurance and I have heard a lot about how they usually use the 80% rule!. I just don't want to call it in too early, but I also don't want to be stuck without medicine while my husband is gone!. He always picks up for me, but if he is gone I don't want to try to have friends go get it because they are strick on who picks it up!. I have never had trouble getting it early before, but I just don't want them to think badly of me!. I have to take my meds around the clock because I am having such bad pain!. I am awaiting surgery and my surgeon had me scheduled for Sept!. but fell and broke her hip, so now I have to wait till December!. Now I am stuck with this pain for another few months!. Anyway, I just wanted additional opinions from pharmacy techs or students, or even patients who have the same thing going on!. I just don't want to call it in too early, but I am also worried about going without!. We just learned he will be gone from the 1-5!. I need to get it before he goes!. Any sugguestions!? I will be signing up for the mail order program in the future so I don't have to go thru this again!. I just wanted to see what your experiences were!. Thanks in advance!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

honey, its ok to pick it up a few days early!. most people dont waite until the day they are out to get medication they take daily/around the clock, wether its narcotic or not!. the only time they will think badly of you is if you try to get it refilled a week or more early, making excuses like i lost them or something!. do what you have to do!. as long as it isnt "against the rules" which it isnt, you should have nothing to worry about!. (i also take narcotic pain medication 3 times a day, and i always call in my refill 3 days early!. i felt weird about it at first too, but i have NEVER had a problem or so much as a funny look :] ) Www@Answer-Health@Com
It mostly depends on the pharmacy!. My Mom's lets her go in after 3 weeks!. Mine has never let me pick it up over 2 days before the 30 day mark!. They differ!. You need to first explain your situation to them and I am sure they will let you have them unless you make a habit of this and they have reason to believe that you are not taking them responsibly!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The answer is simple!.!.!.!.Most prescriptions are written for a 30 day supply!. Take the number of pills the script is for and divide it by 30!. This will tell you how many pills you're supposed to take each day!. This will give you an educated guess on when you can call in for a refill!. Otherwise, just ask your pharmacist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
