Hey AB

The process will vary depending on where you work and what education path you choose!.

You must be an EMT first which is usually a 120 hour course!.

Then decide how you wish to pursue your paramedic education!.

You may wish to opt for a 12-14 month certification type course!.

Or a 2 year college degree program!. Which will in the end better prepare you for a career!.

Each state certification requirements differ and some mandate a NREMT certification as well as a state certification!.

Some also want you to pass a local Medical Control exam!.

Pay will also depend on the location!. I can't give you ranges since I am not familiar with the areas mentioned!. But you can most likely search for agencies within these states to get an idea!.

You can take a look at agency listings at

Good luck
