As with any advice in running, take it slowly!. Increases in anything should be done over time so you do not over do it!. I would suggest using it twice a day for a week then adding 1-2/day each week after that!. In general you should see improvement from the foam roller and total rest after 3 weeks or so!. If you don't then you should see someone who is used to working with runners or athletes!. You will need to fix the underlying cause for the ITBS!. Usually there will be some strength or mechanical imbalance that a trained sports doctor or physical therapist can identify!. For me I have found that weak abdominal muscles cause excessive pelvic tilt and thus extra strain on the ITB!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There are a few stretches that can be done!. The foam rollers can be used a few times a day!. In the beginning don't over do it for you will only aggrivate the condition!. Has anyone looked at your feet to see if there is any condition that might cause this problem!? How are you shoes wearing!? If the roller and ice don't stop the problem see a physical therapist!. Use the ice for fifteen to twenty minutes on the area each hour and then do a light stretch!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I usually do as much as I can stand in a single session each day!. In other words, do it as long as you can stand it (it hurts quite a bit) and then give it a rest till tomorrow!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
