Question: Anyone's child ever had hernia repair!?
In a few hours my one year old is going to get surgery to repair a hernia because his testicle sack didn't close and his intestants (spelling I know) could come out so they have to close it up!. Has anyones child been through this and if so how did it go, was he ok, was he in a lot of pain please help!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, a family member went through this!. Once the hernia was repaired, any pain went away and the baby was googooing as soon as he woke up!. And now you barely notice the stitches given and scarring is slight or none!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The surgery in hands of a paediatric surgeon or trained and experienced general surgeon is quite safe!.
Surgery is a must, and has to be done when the baby is healthy, that means is not weak and has normal weight for his age!. Nowadays there a good option of laparoscopic hernia repair in good centres!. Its almost pain free and it is performed through tiny incisions!.
There is an emergency, when his bowel/ intestine can get obstructed in the hernia, and has to be operated immediately!.
The child will be OK after surgery, and you do not have to worry!. Just give the medications on time, so that he does not experiences pain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Some medical problems are like unknown snake bite, no one knows wheather that snake was poisionous or not!. So even without treatment some of them are going to survive, this does not mean that u will take there opinion of survival and dont treat urs as well!.
Hernia has some fetal complications no one knows when they will come!. So better operate them as earlier as possible!. Doctors will do them under general anasthesia so child even dont recognise that!. It is not major surgery, every child can have it!.
