Thyroid problems with chest pain?!

Question: Thyroid problems with chest pain!?
I went to the doc yesterday for mild chest pain above breast on right side he diagnosed me with gastritis! That just seemed weird to me since i have never had heartburn so I called my herbalist who does foot pressure point therapy and she says it is my thyroid that is not working properly! So do I go back to my doctor and ask him to run test on my thyroid or what!? Any help is greatly appreciated!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
This is probably not your thyroid gland!. However, the only way to assure that is to have a blood TSH or thyroid profile!.

Some thoughts on your discomfort:

1!. Costochondritis is inflammation of the rib cartilage http://www!.mayoclinic!.com/health/costoch!.!.!. If the entire area becomes inflamed, this can cause some types of muscle pain!.

2!. Pleuritis http://www!.mayoclinic!.com/health/pleuris!.!.!. happens when the lung lining becomes inflamed!. This too can cause pain like you're experiencing!.

3!. The ribs and chest have many muscles which can become sore and inflamed http://dtc!.pima!.edu/~biology/201alpha/le!.!.!. If the pain worsens with pressure, this may be the case!.

4!. A hiatal hernia http://www!.smallscars!.com/images/medart/!.!.!. can sometimes produce pain like you are describing!.

5!. Gastritis, acid reflux, inflamed esophagus, or GERD can cause pain like yours!. You do not have to have heartburn to have GERD!. http://www!.mayoclinic!.com/health/gerd/DS!.!.!. There is also a condition called laryngopharyngeal reflux which can cause inflammation and pain in the chest area!.

6!. Occasionally, cholecystitis (gall bladder inflammation) can cause pain in the area you describe!.

You may want to read about all of the above to see if any of them sound familiar!. I had sharp stabbing chest pain above both breast areas for several months, and was eventually diagnosed with GERD!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I also developed thyroid problems and my worst problem was my throat constricting when I ate!. Bread especially!.

Try adding 2 or 3 tablespoons of lemon juice (the bottled kind works fine) to a glass or bottle of water once a day!.

This completely corrected my acid reflux (of 10 years)!.
It is a natural thing to do, give it a try, it might help!.

If you are overweight at all, cut back on how much you are eating!. Cutting everything in half usually works nicely since we generally eat portions that are too large!.

Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
