I don't know, have you tried it!? Usually massaging the cramp will help it relax, although it hurts like crazy!. You can also put heat on it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
if it's a charlie horse - a tight, pulling upward, calf cramp tha best thing is to get up off your booty & put all your weight on th@ leg!. It SHOULD release tha muscle within seconds & subside from hurtin within one minute b/c it causes tha muscle to flatten!. I've had one th@ continued thruout tha nite b4 & it hurts like a ***** to move but you got'a get up for it to go away!. your leg'll tend to be sore/remain tight like you're flexing it there for an hr or so

No, it's more likely to cause cramps!.
You would typically want to stretch a muscle that is cramping, and extending your feet ballet-style would tend to contract your lower leg muscles, and that would tend to exacerbate a cramp if it were in those muscles!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
