Answers:
the first thing that you should not not not do is put any creams on it, as this will make it worse, and it will close off the pores, and the skin wont be able to let the heat out!.
aloe is very good for this, and very cheap,
if i were you though i would go and get a product called solarcaine, or hawaiilan tropic makes something called I!.C!.E, and both of these products have lidocaine in them, which is a medicated thing that will help the burn very much ,and relieve the pain!.
no hot showers, it will really hurt, have a nice cool shower, put a cold cloth on it, this will help as well!.
make sure you stay out of the sun, and wear a cotton t shirt if you must, no more sun until it is healed!.
hope this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com

When you say you're sun-burned badly you leave a lot of room for error!. Are you just bright red or do you have blisters of any kind!?

If you're just bright red you have a first degree burn!. If you have tiny blisters you have a second degree burn!. The reason you have to know which is which is the treatment for each varies !. Regardless of the type of burn you should start drinking plenty of water or Gatorade/sports drink because sunburn is usually accompanied by dehydration or heat exhaustion!.

Treatment also depends on how extensive the burn is (how much of your body it covers)!. If the first degree sunburn covers more than 50% of your body or if the second-degree sunburn covers more than one third of your body go to the emergency room or urgent care within a few hours!.

If the first degree sunburn covers more than 75% of your body or if the second-degree sunburn covers more than two thirds of your body you need to be seen ASAP because you could go into shock at any time!.

If it anytime you feel shortness of breath, your temperature goes to 102, you feel extremely ill, have dizziness or vision problems after you've cooled off, or are persistently lightheaded go to the emergency room immediately or call 911!.

If you have just [cherry] red skin covering less than 50% of your body take a cool bath or use cool compresses (not ice)-cool compresses can be made by soaking small towels in cold water & wringing them out before applying!. When they get warm simply take them and whirl them around in the air & they become cold again almost instantly!.

Take acetaminophen (Tylenol) according to the package directions!. If your pain is so bad that it doesn't respond to just acetaminophen you'll need to be seen by a physician!. Don't take medications which are not prescribed for you -especially for sunburn because sunburn that causes that much pain often requires other interventions that only a physician can provide!.

Oil free sunburn lotion, spray or cream is perfectly acceptable!. The ones containing a topical anesthetic work better!. They will not block your pores off or cause your skin to "not let the heat out" or breathe correctly!. Do avoid any of the ones containing grease because they are difficult to remove & when you're taking a cool bath they make the tub slippery!.

If you have open blisters don't apply anything other than cool water/compresses unless it contains an antiseptic/ antibiotic effect!. For a sunburn with blisters that have opened up watch your temperature until all of the open sores have healed over!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
