Sprained foot/ankle?!
Question: Sprained foot/ankle!?
About A month ago I was hiking and sprained my left ankle!. I neither iced nor rested it and continued running track!.
Two days ago I was running and I rolled my left foot again!. It swelled and I had trouble walking on it that whole day!. It still hurts but I can walk on it without much trouble ( I bought a brace) I was wondering when I could get back to running!? Today!?
I have a history with Ankle problems!. Around 9 months ago I sprained my right ankle 5 times in one week because I didn't stay off of it, then I finally took a week off and It sort of healed (it still cracks constantly)
Track just ended, so I am not as worried about injuries, but I am a big time runner, and I am afraid that if I take a week or more of running that I will put on weight!.
Please tell me that It won't be a bad Idea to run today!.!.!.

I love running!. I am glad to see someone else who does too, but if you want to be able to run when you get older you better take care of your body know!. I would recommend getting some Motrin and start taking that for a week or two!. This will help with the pain and inflammation!. Inflammation is there even if you can't see it, this is the bodies way of protection!. I would wear the brace and ice it at night for the first 3-4 days!. Take a break for a week or two, do other cardio like swimming or biking!. Only you know your body though, so do what feels right!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
