Doesn't it make sense to induce vomiting so you get rid of whatever you happened to drink!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
The key is to neutralize the poison, not repeat the exposure to the toxin, corrosive, irritant--whatever it is a person ingested!. PLUS the body is more prepared to take IN substance!. Ejecting substances is trickier!. The valves are meant to keep things down, not help things go up (and cause you trouble breathing or speaking--hence the trouble with acid reflux)!.
The crucial things is to identify what it is that's been ingested and to use Poison Control or another reliable source to suggest the best way to create the least amount of further damage, exposure, etc!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

because if it's something that burned your throat and esophagus on the way down, it will reburn the burned areas on the way up, sometimes totally destoying tissues and almost always leaving the areas more vulnerable to infection!.

also, when vomiting, there's a danger of aspirating -- the toxic substance getting into the lungs!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If it's a caustic substance it's not a good idea to vomit right away because you will burn your esophagus even more on the way up!. They usually want you to dilute whatever you have in your stomach with milk or water before you vomit!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

depends on what you drank- if you drank something caustic, vomiting just does more damage!. the answer would be to dilute with something like milk and get your butt to an e!.r!. anyway you canWww@Answer-Health@Com

Somethings such as petrol based products can cause more harm coming up!. It just depends onthe product that was swollowed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

its bad for you and could cause problems later in lifeWww@Answer-Health@Com
