Question: I have pain in my big toe, it red and hot, what is it!?
Answers:
It's uric acid crystals or better called, gout!Www@Answer-Health@Com

you need to be much more specific about where the inflammation is!. If it is by the side of the nail then it is likely to be an ingrowing toenail - and speaking from experience - don't try to sort it out yourself, go to a reputable chiropodist!. And the longer you leave it the worse it'll get!. Things that help cause ingrowing toenails include lots of dancing/other sport, not cutting the nail in a horizontal line and poking down the side of the nail!.

If it's not by the side of the nail then go to the doctor - in fact go to the doctor either way!. Red, hot and swollen indicates an infection that *might* need antibiotics!.

hope that helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds to me like it could be an ingrown toenail or gout!. Gout can be very painful and you can't stand anything to touch it, not even your sheet when you are in bed!. Try eating some fresh cherries or drink cherry juice!. If it is an ingrown toenail you will probably have to have it lanced!.
