Bad migraines on Topamax?!
Question: Bad migraines on Topamax!?
I've been on Topamax about 6 weeks!. I was put on it for RSD (nerve pain)!. Since put on it, I've been having random, really bad migraines!. Never had a problem with migraines!. I've had a few over the course of my life!. So; last week; they doubled my dose from 50mg to 100mg 2 times a day!. Now the migraine is much worse and it is just on the right front side of my head!. It has been there since Friday (now Monday afternoon)!. Can't get the docs office to call me back yet!.!.!.!.!.
Seems odd that a migraine med would give me migraines!. I haven't started any new meds in the past few months!. The only other meds I take are Duragesic patch (for pain), Flexeril (muscle relaxer) and Ambien (sleep aid)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You really need to get in to see your doctor asap!. I've found that when I can't seem to get a hold of my doctor, then I go or call to my local pharmacist for advice!. They are generally very helpful and very knowledgeable!. Also check out this website for more information:

Topamax helps with migraine in many people, but not everyone!. It's a seizure medication- and perhaps not the right one for you!. I have not heard of Topamax used for chronic pain!.There are other drugs such as neurontin & lyrica that are better for pain of RSD!. I'd call the doctor again & keep calling until you get a nurse or someone else to speak with!. You can't just stop taking Topamax or you'll get worse side effects, you'll have to taper down

That is odd!. You should talk to your doctor or pharmacist!. Topamax got rid of my migraines!. (Sometimes a pharmacist can give you more information about a medication than a doctor can!.)Www@Answer-Health@Com
