I recently gained 15 pounds and i have pain in my knees. They even lock up on me!

Question: I recently gained 15 pounds and i have pain in my knees!. They even lock up on me at times!.!?
Is it because of the weight gain or could it be something else!. I'm really concerned because it seems to be getting worse by the day!. That could also be because, I started exercising after I started feeling the pain to get this weight off!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Where have you gained the weight!? If you put on weight the soreness could be caused by the extra pressure on your knees!. However if your extremities are also swelling and when you press on the skin it causes an indention that stays longer than on skin that isn't swollen you need to see a doctor because that is a warning sign of heart trouble!. If your extremities aren't swollen and you gained the weight in a short time, like a week or even a month, you still need to see a doctor because that isn't normal and could indicate a thyroid or other issue that needs to be addressed asap!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is because of the weight gain, your body isn't used to carrying it around, you need to get the weight unless you gained the weight because you needed it, if that is the case, then strengthen your leg muscles!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You don't say how old you are!. It could be the extra weight creating stress on the joints, an injury from the exercise or arthritis in your joints (which could be aggravated by either the extra weight or the exercise)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
