How bad does a cut need to be before you should go get stitches?!
Question: If, despite compression to stop bleeding, the bleeding continues and is fast. If the cut is deep, dark gash, heavy bleeding...go get stitiches. You can try simply holding the gash closed while running cut under very cold water, this helps slow things down. But pressure is best.

really bad trust me!I got stitches once during the summer and it was from one of those pull-tab cans of tuna!It was really bad but I didn't have to go to the hospital,I only went to the doctor! The doctor on call gave me two stitches and I'm only ten, well I was nine at the time but that doesn't make it better,it only makes it worse!
depends on the doctor i had stiches because i ran my hand through the window it was a medium size cut around 5-7 cm
Criteria for stitching are usually:
-cuts deeper than 1/2 an inch
-cuts wider than 1/4 of an inch and gaping
-any gaping wound
-any cut that won't stop bleeding
-any cuts on the face other than very minor ones
