Big Toe Bruised!?!

Question: so I was at work about a 5-6 weeks ago and I dropped a 170 pound propane tank on my big toe, it hurt really bad for like 3 days and was fine after that, it has a decent size bruise under the nail, it's all at the top of the nail..not the part you cut but at the very toe, closest to the actual skin on the toe, it doesnt hurt any more and doesnt bleed or anything and the nail doesnt seem to be falling off at all, what do I need to do to get rid of the bruise??

i had a friend do something similar to your accident . he dropped a car battery on his big toe and he took a very small drill bit and very carefully drilled a tiny hole in the nail to relieve the prssure and it drained and healed nicely . stopped hurting within a day or two.

leave it alone.

i thought my nail would fall off and it never did. if it's meant to fall off it will, otherwise your body will keep it on and 'repair' what's hurt inside underneath it.

u should use a cream around ur to toe to relief the blood accumulation like Reparil gel or other for improving blood circulation to periphery

I would say you are fine. I've had the same type of injury before eventually my nail did fall off. At least they grow back. Might try going to local store and putting something on it but if it doesn't hurt I wouldn't worry.

I had the same bruise. My friend was drunk out of her mind and I was talking her back and forth to the washroom and she kept stepping on me with he heels. It's my True Friend Badge hahaha. It hurt like heck. I ended up with a bruise under my nail and on my toe. It doesn't hurt anymore but the bruise is still there. This was about 4 months ago. The nail never fell off but I'm finally seeing it make it's way up. It's growing out very slowly but at least it's moving. Maybe yours will too. I say you leave it alone or if it's really bothering your call your doctor.

try using medicated cream daily and it might improve your bruise daily. but if that doesnt help, just try to be patient and let it heal by itzelf. if it still doesnt improve that way, visit a doctor to seek help.
