Hamstring injury?!

Question: About two days ago I was warming up for rugby, and while runnining I felt a pop in my hamstring. I wasn't able to run, but I could still walk, though it hurt somewhat. Now 2 days later it feels a lot better, I can walk normally there's still a little pain. And as of yet I haven't seen a bruise. I couldn't extend my knee all the way at first, but now it's starting to return to normal too. I work and go to school so I haven't been able to rest it, but I have had it compressed and all. The thing is I heard that if I heard a pop it's serious, I felt the pop but I don't think I heard it. Is that semantics or what? NE way with the symptoms I've laid out does it sound worse, I know go to a doctor, but I don't want to right now.

I had the same problem a few years back, running for soccer, heres what my personal trainer told me to do... Sit on the ground with your legs straight out, put a towel under the sole of the foot on the leg that hurts, hold the towel on both sides and gentley tug on the towel while tugging raise your leg with the towel, do ten reps of this. Be sure to be gentle, and if your still hurting go see your teams trainer or a doctor, it could be something as simple as needing to wear a knee brace while doing sports or it could be that it is waiting for you to go back to practice to give out on you, you just never know. Good Luck, hope that helps!

just streach

stretch ! and ice it

Doubtful a Dr will do anything for it. I have torn both calf muscles and all they had me do was keep compression on it for a while, so wrap it. These types of injuries can linger a LONG time, so go easy, even if it feels ok. A re-injury could keep you out even longer than the 1st time.

It may have caught on a joint and made popping sound. If you had done hamstring injury it wouldn't improve so fast.
