I hit my head the day before yesterday...?!

Question: I was getting some pajamas out of my bottom dresser drawer and after I got them, I stood up really fast and got my head on the corner of the dresser. The spot I hit is still VERY sore to the touch and there is a small red mark there. I have been dizzy quite often since then and more klutzy than usual ( and I am quite the klutz on a normal basis). Should I go to the doctor ?

do you feel more sleepy? If so you must get this checked out. You may be more aware of your clumsiness because of the head injury - however I would go the doctor anyway to be on the safe side.

Yes! Go to a hospital, it sounds like you might have a concussion.

just take some pain relief and take it Essy for a day or 2

Did you lose consciousness at the time of the injury? Have you been abnormally sleepy since you hurt your head? These are more important than clumsiness. If you are already admittedly klutzy, I wouldn't use that as a reason to see the doctor. However, if you answered either of the first 2 questions with a "yes", call your doctor now. Pain, redness and swelling at the site are normal after a blow to the head. I would worry most about what is going on under the skull. A concussion can cause minor or even serious pressure on the brain. You may need nothing but a aspirin. However, your doctor may recommend an MRI or similar test to see if there is any internal problem.

concussion is possible you can tell with the pupils in your eyes if they react to direct light by consrticing very slowly you might have head trauma. best advise stay awake if u feel suddenly sleepy. apply ice with rag underneath ice. DO NOT do any straining activity
