Will my foot ever get better?!

Question: I'm a little upset as i cant seem to get my foot better again.
Nearly two years ago now i went over on my ankle playing football and i believe i may have broken something if not torn/snapped a ligament. stupidly i never went to the docs about it until 6 weeks later when it was still black and swolen. now my doc said it was too late to do anything as i left too long. (my doc is rubbish) it took a year to heal and to this day isnt right the bones in my ankle are much bigger than the other and it keeps swelling slightly and is very stiff to move and i get slight pain (on scale 1-10 about 4) but it is very annoying. what should i do?

It sounds like you may have originaly damaged your ligaments. If this is the case you ankle will always be weak.
I did a similar thing playing footie years ago and damaged my knee ligaments, never been right since.
You should go and see a specialist really and find out exactly what is wrong, and ways to ease the pain.
I don't know what your financial state is, but if you can afford it I suggest you pay to see a private specialist in muscle/ligaments. You will be seen quicker this way and at least know what the problem is. You can then take it from there. Hope you sort it out soon, nothing worse than a niggling pain.

Go see an orthopaedic specialist.

Get a second opinion. Maybe go to a foot specialist?

I would try a chiropractor first. A reputable one. If that doesn't help see a different doctor, you may need surgery to correct.

If you did indeed break something, you may need surgery to fix it. Ask your doctor about seeing a orthopedist.

go to a pediatritian
