Doctors do not like to treat a migraine with narcotics because it can cause a rebound headache. There are a ton of migraine meds that can be used to kill the migraine. Ask your doctor about Axert. It only take about 30 minutes to work and it is amazing how well it knocks out the pain. If you do get a migraine that just will not let up, and trust me, I have had a couple of them, go to the ER. Tell them that you have been diagnosed with Migraine Headaches and that you are having one that is high up there on the pain scale. A combination of Dilauded, Adivan, Benadryl, and Phenegren should break the migraine so you can go home and rest comfortably while it runs its course. If it does not work, you may have to be admitted to the hospital for pain management and neurological consult. I did once and they had me there for 4 days. I know your pain, but I also know that drugs like Percocet and Lortab do not usually make the headache stop, especially if you take them for more than a couple of days. They usually make it worse. Good luck with your migraines and also be sure to talk to your Dr. about a preventative medication if you are getting the migraines often. This will reduce the number of migraines you get in a month, but you will still need to take a migraine medication if one breaks through.

Well it's obviously in one person's job and not in another's
